Tver Oblast

We were recently assigned to the region of Tver Oblast, Russia to work with during our adoption process. Frank Adoption Center was asked to assign 2-3 families to work with this newly re-established region and they felt that our family was a good match based on our adoption criteria and requirements. We just submitted the final paperwork and are hopeful that there will be some activity within the next few months. This new development has allowed Dave and I to begin to research this region which is nice bonus, some families only get 5 days notice :)

The city of Tver is located one-third of the way between Moscow and St. Petersburg and is fairly large with a population of 1.6 million people. If you would like to read more about Tver go to

We are happy to be traveling to a region close in proximity to Moscow and one that is fairly well established :) More to come....

I stumbled across your blog and thought I would wish you well on your journey. My husband and I adopted our son from Tver last June. Our prayers are with you.

I too have just come across you blog, hope all on your journey is going well! I know adopting my daughter from China was such a long and at times strenuous process, but it is well worth it in the end. During our adoption process, we found http://onlineceucredit.com/edu/social-work-ceus-iap to be incredibly helpful in providing information we needed to better prepare for our child. I wish you the best of luck with your travels!

Dear Jenniffer! Louisiana State University School of Social Work is asking for your help to participate in a study that aims to investigate and analyze cultural self-identification of children adopted from Eastern Europe. We have completed a preliminary study and are now expanding our data by adding minors 13-18 years of age. The study has been approved by the IRB (#3393). If you or your children were adopted from Eastern Europe, you are greatly encouraged to participate!
SURVEY: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/C8DY77L
Attention!!!: If or your children are under 18 years of age, we will need parental consent. The link to sign a consent form is provided below. The connect must be signed by a parent or a legal guardian of a minor. The response will not count without the consent if a child is under 18 years old. A copy of the signed consent will be sent to the parent or a legal guardian.
PARENTAL CONSENT: https://signnow.com/s/151l883
We greatly appreciate your support in helping with the Study. Please SEND THIS INFORMATION to other adoptees from Eastern Europe. The results of the study will enhance international adoption practices.
